Batiste Dry Shampoo Review

Hello beauties,

I still remember the good old days, when I used to sprinkle baby powder to my hair roots, with the risk of them becoming white, to absorb the excess oil on those evening, when I had to go out impromptu, but had little time left to shampoo my tresses. My mother used to scoff my efforts during those days saying that I would be left with nothing but oily and white hair. But then, she was my mother who hated seeing me older than herself.

Cut to the present times, we have a plethora of dry shampoos out there, from various brands. Today, I will be sharing a staple summer product for me, the dry shampoo from Batiste. A recent addition to the Indian hair care market. I got this beauty from my Germany trip last year, but then I received a fruity/cherry scented product in my Fab bag. So, right now I have two Batiste dry shampoos enough to last me for the upcoming summer and monsoon months.

Price: INR 299 for 50 ml of the product

I still remember how jittery I was when spraying this shampoo on my hair for the very first time. I had no clue if it would help my super greasy hair and second I had no time left to wash my hair. As with all new products, specially for hair, I was worried out product buildup, I was spraying the product carefully and from the recommended distance of one foot.

The dry shampoo works beautifully, to absorb excess oil from your hair roots, though it wouldn't give you a squeaky clean feel of freshly washed hair, still you will get volume and fragrance in your hair, which I quiet like.

Moreover, the product doesn't show up as white mass on your hair and doesn't clump them together as well. A great product indeed for people with fine or thin hair (yours truly) as well as those with no time to wash hair. The small packaging ensures that you can easily carry the product in your handbag as well.

However, the effects are not long lasting especially on my fine and limp hair. My hair look great for an hour or two but then they start looking super greasy with heavy product buildup in them. So, I prefer them on in emergency situations where they are good to last for 1-2 hours max.

The Batiste Dry Shampoo is available in some colored variants as well, which may help in covering some grey hair as well, though I haven't tried those yet. The cherry variant which I have is super fruity with loads of scent but I find it a bit overwhelming.

Overall, I like the product for the function it does, yet the effect is not very long lasting on my fine and limp hair. Have you tried the Batiste Dry Shampoo, do let me know in the comments below.

See ya...
